Biography
HARVARD – Robert Cohn, age 91, of Harvard, formerly of Fitchburg and Hubbardston, died on Thursday, May 26th.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Ann (Oram) Cohn; his son, Steven Cohn of Austin, Texas; his daughter, Karen Belliveau and her husband, John of Worcester; his stepchildren, Kris Nyzio and husband, Jim of Duxbury and Debbi Taylor and husband, Tim of Ayer; his sister, Frances Kudler of Lantana, Florida; three grandchildren, Anthony Cohn of Austin, Texas, Jodi and Jack Belliveau of Worcester; a great-grandson Anthony Robert of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was born in Brooklyn, New York the son of Julius and Katie (Lapidus) Cohn. He graduated Midwood High in Brooklyn prior to entry into the US Military. Bob served as an electrician aboard the USS Kern Liberty in the Pacific in the US Navy from 1943 until 1946. He was the co-owner of Rickey Bra Company in Worcester. He was a designer for Collier-Keyworth juvenile division in Gardner and was the co-owner, with his wife, of Tootsie’s Antiques in Hubbardston until his retirement.
Bob’s interests were leather crafting and the variety of animals that resided at his Main Street home. He was a long time member of the Hubbardston Lions Club and recently received the Melvin Jones award. He served on the Hubbardston Zoning Board of Appeals, the Arts Lottery Council, the Gardner CDC and was a member of the Hubbardston Business Association.
PRIVATE GRAVESIDE SERVICES WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY AT BROOKSIDE CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN.
