BARRE – Robert A. Clough, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 6, 2018 at UMass – University Campus, Worcester after a short illness. Born in Meriden, CT, Bob was a son of Allen L. and Hazel E. (Clark) Clough and lived in Barre, 25 years in La Puente, CA and over 25 years in Hudson, NY before returning to Barre in 2013.He graduated from Hoover High School in Glendale, CA and attended Columbia Greene Community College. He worked 25 years for Keystone Engineering in Los Angeles and later co-managed Affordable Self Storage in Hudson, NY, where he worked 20 years before retiring in 2007. He was a member of Hope Lodge of Masons in Gardner, Scottish Rite Bodies of Boston and the Aleppo Temple Shrine in Wilmington.Bob honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He held a private pilot’s license for many years and enjoyed tinkering with and building Hot Rods. He loved listening to a variety of music and playing the piano at home. As an avid bowler, Bob was a member of several leagues and won several bowling tournaments. He will be remembered as a person who enjoyed the company of others and spending time with his family.He leaves his wife of 37 years, Rose M. (Coole) Clough; Brenda May and her husband, David, Glenda and her husband, George Hutchinson, Patty McLean, Michael McLean, Tim McLean and his wife, Donna, Bill and his wife, Jane Taylor, all of California, and Danny Taylor of Oklahoma; three brothers, Edward A. Clough of Las Vegas, Arthur H. Clough and Lawrence S. Clough, both of Barre; two sisters, Joyful I. Wasznk and Nancy L. Jackson both of Lake Oswego, Oregon; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. Bob is predeceased by two step-children, Nancy Schweikart and Gary Marchant.Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bob’s family from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, August 9th at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
