WORCESTER/GRAFTON – Robert C. Boyns, 65, died Saturday, December 3, 2016 at UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester following an illness. He was born in Worcester and was raised in Princeton and Grafton. He later lived in Jefferson before moving to Worcester. Bob attended Wachusett Regional High School and worked as a cook for the former Holden District Hospital for many years until its closing. He then worked for the Town of Grafton Public Works department. Bob was a quiet, at home kind of guy. He loved to cook and enjoyed gardening and spending time fishing. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grafton, where he taught Sunday school and helped as the janitor. Bob loved animals, especially his cat at home, who already misses Bob; and was always quick to lend a helping hand when people were in need. He leaves his beloved wife of 16 years, Karen E. Ulfves-Boyns; his mother, Beverlea J. (Hawes) Patten and her husband, Emery of Limerick, ME; his sister, Janet Burgess and her husband, Stephen of Grafton; his brother, Stephen Boyns and his wife, Pauline of North Oxford; one niece, Kristin; one nephew, Derek; one grandniece, Samantha; and one grandnephew, Cody; his aunt and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Robert E. Boyns.
