RUTLAND - Robert “Bob” Kenneth Carlson, 69, of Rutland, sadly passed away of a heart attack on Thursday, January 17, 2019. He was born and raised by Ken and Edie Carlson in Worcester. Bob was married to his best friend and love of his life, Anita, and in 1978 moved to Rutland where they built their home. They recently celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary.
Besides his wife, Bob will be lovingly missed and remembered by his son, Matthew and his wife, Alison; his daughter, Sarah, and her husband, Phillip; four grandchildren whom he adored, Lily, Anya, Alexis and Isaac; a sister, Diane Cooper; a brother, Richard Carlson, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. He loved his family more than anything and was so proud of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed many trips traveling to Utah visiting them and Bob and Anita recently had a wonderful Christmas vacation there where they also traveled to Zion National Park.
Bob owned and operated Ajax Tree Expert Corp. for many years. He took pride in his extensive garden and blueberry fields. He loved the outdoors and was a lifelong member of the Rutland Sportsman Club. Highlights were bird hunting with his 3 black labs over the years. He also loved fishing with his grandchildren and spending time at his 2nd “home” of Moosehead Lake where he first met and married Anita. He’ll be missed more than words can say.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Bob’s family on Wednesday, January 23rd from 3-6 p.m. at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Following calling hours a gathering will be at the Rutland Sportsman Club at 6:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Rutland’s 4th of July celebration at
