Robert M. "Rob" Brossman

RUTLAND – Robert M. “Rob” Brossman, 57, beloved husband of Julia C. (Smith) Brossman, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Monday, December 10, 2018, surrounded by his family. Born in Latrobe, PA, he was a son of Robert Brossman and the late Mary (Morehead) Brossman.

Rob was a high school graduate of The Linsly Military Institute in Wheeling, WV and went on to further his education at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA where he received a Bachelor’s degree in History. He was a dedicated employee of The Hanover Insurance Company where he has worked for over 30 years.

Those who knew Rob best will remember his friendliness and ability to talk to anyone, his smile, his humor and readiness with a witty pun, and his love of music and his guitar playing. Rob loved spending time with family and friends whether it be cruising to the islands, trips to Old Orchard Beach and Key West, or just hanging out in the yard.

He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife, Julia and his two sons Robbie and Matt, of Rutland; his father, Robert “Docko” Brossman of Wheeling WV; three brothers, Phil Brossman and his wife, Susan of Wheeling, WV, Mark Brossman of Wheeling, WV and Mike Brossman and his wife, Nicole of Grand Rapids, MI; his extended family, particularly Tom and Irene Brank, Kent and Chrissy Strait and their families.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Rob’s family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 14 at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
