Biography
GARDNER - Robert A. Brock, 72, a longtime resident of Gardner, died on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus in Worcester. Born and raised in Worcester, Bob was the son of William E. and Madeline B. (Flint) Brock.
He leaves a daughter, Cheryl A. Toland of Jackson, Wyoming; a granddaughter, Anika L. Toland; an aunt, Grace O. Hansen of Holden and several cousins.
Besides his parents, Bob is predeceased by his son, Mark, a brother, Bill and a sister, Marsha.
Bob graduated from North High School in Worcester in 1961. Shortly after graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country from 1962 to 1965. Upon his return from the Army, Bob attended Worcester Junior College and received his Associate’s Degree in Business. For the last 20 years, Bob worked as a Park Supervisor at Willard Brook State Forest and Pearl Hill State Park in West Townsend. Bob loved his job, the outdoors and was very passionate about forest and wildlife conservation.
A service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 10, in the chapel at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's name to Veteran's Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
