STERLING – Robert C. Borjeson, 79, of Walnut Drive, died peacefully on Sunday, July 8, 2012 under the loving care of his family and the staff at the Blaire House of Worcester. Born in Worcester, Bob was the son of Gottfred and Alberta (Martis) Borjeson and lived 45 years in Sterling.
Bob was a graduate of Commerce High School, Worcester Junior College and Clark University all in Worcester. He worked at Digital Equipment Corporation in their quality control division retiring in 1996. Previously, he worked 15 years at Crompton & Knowles and many years at Coppus Engineering Corporation, both in Worcester. Bob was a proud Veteran of the Korean War where he served in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1955.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Greendale Retired Men’s Club both in Worcester, and the Fly Tyers Association. In his spare time, Bob could be found fly fishing, playing golf, cooking or gardening at his home. Bob will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend. His family will continue to cherish the memories of their many vacations spent together in Maine and Cape Cod.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan F. (Fawcett) Borjeson; two sons, Robert S. Borjeson of Londonderry, NH and David C. Borjeson and his wife Julie of Duxbury; a daughter, Karen E. Horgan of Shrewsbury; his sister, Carol Lettieri of Windham, CT; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Ashley, Stephanie, DJ, Erin, Samantha, Craig and Cameron. A sister, Elaine Moran, predeceased him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. In remembrance of Bob, a funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 13, at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Hillside Cemetery in Sterling.
