LANCASTER – Robert B. MacEwan, Jr., 75, of Shannon Way, died on Friday, May 21, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves his wife of 56 years, Shirley E. (Bright) MacEwan; two sons, Robert B. MacEwan III and his wife Cathy of Rock Hill, SC and Craig A. MacEwan of Lancaster. He was born on June 15, 1934 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Robert B. and Frances (Georgia) MacEwan, Sr., and lived in Acton and many years in Concord before moving to Lancaster five years ago. He was a graduate of Concord High School.
For 48 years he worked for Airco Company in Acton, retiring in 1998. He was proud of his Scottish ancestry and enjoyed studying Scottish history and golf.
A private funeral service will be held in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Sterling Animal Shelter, 17 Laurelwood Road, Sterling, MA 01564.
