WORCESTER – Robert J. Black, Jr., 93, died at the Christopher House in Worcester on February 9, 2024, after several years of declining health. He was predeceased in 2020 by his wife of 44 years, Therese (Boucher) Black. He was born in Worcester, the son on the late Robert and Lovelena (St. Onge) Black.
Robert was a graduate of Worcester Boy’s Trade and worked at Commonwealth Press for 40 years. He was a resident of Holden, where he delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. He served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Robert is survived by a daughter, Joanne Peck and her husband, Brian of South Dakota, and a son Stephen, and his wife, Pat of Indiana. Robert had two granddaughters, Brianna Peck and Laurie Black, a grandson, Benjamin Black, two great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter. He also leaves two brothers, Paul of Auburn and Donald of Ohio; and three sisters, Barbara Boisvert, Elizabeth Capuano and Kathleen Blais, all of Auburn.
Robert was predeceased by two sons, Robert Black and Kevin Black, a granddaughter, Jodi (Black) Maillet, and a brother, Richard Black.
Robert requested that there be no funeral services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
