Eugene R. Martel

PAXTON – Eugene R. Martel, 71, of Paxton died on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 46 years, Hazel F. (LaBelle) Martel; two sons, Glen E. Martel and his wife Lori and Neal J. Martel, his daughter, Lisa A. Martin and a granddaughter, Danielle Ann Martin, all of Worcester; three step-grandsons, Michael, Matthew and Colin MacDougall; and many nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester the son of Eugene L. and Alma I. (Erikson) Martel and lived 26 years in Paxton.

Mr. Martel graduated from North High School and worked 26 years at Riley Stoker Co. in Worcester, retiring in 1996. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1960.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 23rd in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral will be held on Monday, January 24th, from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 10 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton.
