HOLDEN - Rita B. (Turner) Clancy of Jefferson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 under the loving care of her son and the staff at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. She was 95. Born and raised in Worcester, Rita was the daughter of James E. and Dorothy (Jefferson) Turner and had lived 44 years in Jefferson. Rita's husband of 46 years, Joseph P. Clancy, Sr., died in 1989. She leaves her son, Joseph P. Clancy, Jr. of Jefferson and several nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her sister, Phyllis R. Uppvall and a step-sister, Evelyn Lowell. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and worked 43 years for Vellumoid, Inc., retiring in 1983. Rita was a member of Greendale People's Church in Worcester. Rita enjoyed her trips to Mohegan Sun, Atlantic City and LasVegas. Her favorite past times were cooking in her kitchen and working on the daily crossword puzzles. A private graveside service honoring Rita's life will be held at Grove Cemetery in Holden.
