Rita C. (Nowicki) Strzelewicz

AUBURN – Rita C. (Nowicki) Strzelewicz, 79, died on Friday, April 21, 2006, in UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, after an illness. Her husband, Bernard J. Strzelewicz died in 1972.
She leaves her son, John Strzelewicz and his wife Cheryl of Oxford; a brother, Robert C. Nowicki of Auburn; a sister, Iona P. Premo of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews. Rita was born in Webster the daughter of Michael and Jeannette (Beffre) Nowicki. She was a machine operator for several years at the Henry L. Hanson Tool & Die Company in Worcester, retiring in the late 70’s. She was a past member of the Women’s Emblem Club of Worcester and was an active member of St. Peter’s Church. Rita was a devoted wife, mother and aunt. She loved cooking and baking for the enjoyment of her family.
Funeral services for Rita will be held on Wednesday, April 26, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, April 25, from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Auburn District Nursing Association, 191 Pakachoag Street, Auburn MA 01501.
