DENNISPORT/HOLDEN – Richard W. Ball, 59, formerly of Holden, died on Friday, October 13, 2006, in Cape Cod Hospital.
He leaves a sister, Margaret A. Weber of Marlborough, Connecticut; four brothers, Donald A. Ball of Worcester, Thomas J., Timothy E. and Kenneth D. Ball all of Holden; several nephews and nieces.
Mr. Ball graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and SMU in Dartmouth. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served three tours of duty in Vietnam. He moved to Cape Cod after his military service and worked in maintenance at the Three Seasons Motor Lodge in Dennisport. He was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Hyannis.
The funeral for Mr. Ball will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The committal service and military honors will follow at 1:45 p.m. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts, Remillard Building, 2000 Century Drive, Worcester, MA 01606.
