Richard D. Talbert

WORCESTER - Richard D. Talbert, 72, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 29, 2020.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of Saul and Thelma (Lement) Talbert. After attending Mashpee Prep on the Cape and Bryant College, Richard returned to his hometown and the family business.

After working at Talbert Corp. in Worcester and at Beacon Wiper in Chelsea, Richard founded and operated “Shaky Jake’s Vagabond Vendor”, a fixture on Highland Street for decades.

Richard will be lovingly missed and remembered by his sister, Margery (Talbert) and her husband Stan Aurell of Millbury; predeceased by his niece Samantha Mietla, he will always be remembered by his nephews Ben Mantyla and his wife, Emily, Joshua Mantyla and Nathan Mantyla; and many cherished grandnieces and grandnephews. He will also by missed his close friend of many years, Greg Jones.

Friends are invited to join the family Saturday April 10th at Ralph’s from 2 to 4 when we celebrate Richard’s life. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
