WORCESTER – Dr. Richard Marc Jacobs, 69, died at home on Monday, June 5, surrounded by the loving presence of his family.
Richard was born in Worcester, the son of Maxwell and Ruth (Jacobson) Jacobs. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Case Western Reserve University, he graduated from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine as a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. Richard was in private practice for 30 years in College Park, MD, specializing in limb salvage and wound care, as well as foot and ankle surgery. Following private practice, he was the podiatrist and wound care specialist for 13 years at the Charles E. Smith Life Communities in Rockville, MD.
Richard will be lovingly missed and remembered by his beloved wife of 23 years, Debra Weingarten; his identical twin brother, Dr. Robert L. Jacobs and his wife, Claudette; his sister, Ellen M. Martin, and her husband, Gerry; his sisters-in-law, Lois Jacobs and Carol Jacobs; his 12 nieces and nephews; and his 9 great-nieces and -nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jerome B. Jacobs on January 27, 2023, and Stephen M. Jacobs on March 6, 2023.
Family and friends will gather to honor Richard’s life at his Funeral Service at 11am on Thursday, June 8, at Congregation Beth Israel, 15 Jamesbury Drive, Worcester. Interment will follow at Worcester B’nai Brith Cemetery, 55 St. John’s Road, Worcester. Memorial Observance will be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choosing in Richard’s memory.
