STERLING – Richard L. Daringer, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Sterling Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Geraldine (Canning) Daringer and the son of the late Philip and Marjorie (Stillwell) Daringer.

Born and raised in Newcomerstown, OH, Richard lived in Hamilton Township, NJ, for over 30 years before moving to West Virginia and eventually settling in Sterling in 2014. After graduating high school and attending trade school, Richard enjoyed a long career doing elevator repair at Princeton University. For many years, he proudly served as captain of the Yardville First Aid Squad, demonstrating his commitment to the community. Richard was also a proud veteran, serving as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Outside of work and his military service, Richard was an avid gardener, devoting much of his time to caring for his garden and fruit trees, a passion his family will always remember. He also enjoyed woodworking and took great pride in crafting beautiful wooden cradles for each of his grandchildren, creating cherished family heirlooms.

Richard will be deeply missed by his six children: Dolly Miller and her husband, Curtis, of Sterling; Allen Daringer of Cumru Township, PA; Elsie Daringer and her wife, Denise Gaug, of Cathedral City, CA; Lois Kreitzberg and her husband, Doug, of Hamilton, NJ; Louise Stoop and her husband, Timothy, of Yardville, NJ; and Mary Whitehead and her husband, John, of Lawrenceville, NJ. He is also survived by his twin brother, Robert Daringer of PA; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife of 60 years, Geraldine, Richard was predeceased by his daughter, Margaret Kinnunen of Sterling, MA; his son, P. Jacob Daringer of Bordentown, NJ; and his two brothers, Philip Daringer, Jr., and Leon Daringer, as well as his sister-in-law, Joyce Daringer.
