SPENCER – Richard A. Carr, Jr. 35, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Sunday, June 24, 2012. He was born in Worcester on November 10, 1976 and moved to Spencer five years ago. Richard worked with his wife Crystal for New England Land Survey, Inc. and had previously worked at Gentex Optics for many years.
He is survived by his wife Crystal (Nygard) Carr; his 3 sons, Zachary Carr, 10, Caleb and Coby Carr, 7, all of Spencer; his parents, Richard and Pamela Carr of East Brookfield; 2 sisters, Lisa Tagman and her husband Tim Tagman of East Brookfield and Michelle Worthington and her husband Derek Worthington of West Brookfield; 2 brothers, Joseph Carr of Charlton and Jeff Boffoli of Hyannis; 2 sisters-in-law, Amy Nygard-Shaw and her husband Scott Field and Shawna Nygard; his grandmother, Evelyn Carr of FL; many aunts and uncles, and his nephews and nieces, Lauren, Alex, Brook, D.J., Michael, Dawn, Dylan, Brittany, Ethan, Bella, George. He is predeceased by his grandfather Joseph A. Carr of FL and his father-in-law George Berthiaume of Worcester. Richard helped coach his sons’ football and baseball teams and enjoyed doing fun family things. He will be greatly missed and lives on in the hearts of his family and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service honoring Richard’s life on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Saint Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 695 Southbridge Street, Worcester, MA 01610. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Carr Boys Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 171, East Brookfield, MA 01515. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
