PAXTON – Evelyn R. (Ericson) Wylie, 83, of Paxton, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2011 in Holden Nursing Home. Her husband of 48 years, Hugh B. Wylie, died in 2001.
A retired Registered Nurse, she leaves three sons, Eric H. Wylie, Edward J. Wylie and Paul D. Wylie, all of Rutland; a brother, Robert Ericson of Harwich; 7 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. A son, Kenneth E. Wylie, died in 1977. A brother, Stanley and a sister, Marion, predeceased her.
She was born on January 24, 1928 in Worcester, daughter of Emil and Vivian (Samuelson) Ericson, and has lived in Paxton since 1957. She graduated from Auburn High School and the Worcester Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing where she worked as an R.N. for 36 years and was a member of the school's alumni association. She was also a member of the First Congregational Church in Paxton.
Her funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, March 17th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Paxton. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Paxton, 1 Church Street, Paxton, MA 01612.
