WORCESTER - Rebecca Berenson, age 55, died on Tuesday, October 23rd in Rose Monahan Hospice Residence.
She leaves her husband of 32 years, Chuck Rosenblum; a son, Lewis Rosenblum of Worcester; two daughters, Lena Rosenblum of Cleveland, Ohio and Liza Rosenblum of Worcester; her parents, Robert and Geraldine (Cohen) Berenson of Worcester; her mother-in-law Lenora (Melnick) Rosenblum of West Hartford; two brothers, David Berenson and his wife Madeleine of Vail, CO and Ronald Berenson and his wife Hannah of Florence, MA.
She was born in Westfield, NJ, and had lived in Worcester for 33 years.
She graduated from Beloit College in Wisconsin and received Masters Degrees in Education from Lesley College in Cambridge and Springfield College.
She was a Special Education Teacher in several elementary schools, most recently at Mayo School in Holden. Rebecca was a dedicated teacher and loved by all of her students.
She was a member of Temple Emanuel Sinai, the Jewish Community Center, and the Advisory Board of the Worcester Public School System. She was a life-long tennis player, most recently as a member of Holden Hills. She also loved spending her free time with family and friends.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 2:00 PM ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28th AT TEMPLE EMANUEL SINAI, 661 SALISBURY STREET, WORCESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN. Burial will follow at B’nai Brith Cemetery in Worcester.
Following the interment service, memorial observance will held through Sunday evening, October 28th at her residence.
