PRINCETON – Nancy R. (Roberts) Brickey, 75, of 55 Gregory Hill Road, a lifelong resident of Princeton, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 10, 2006, after a courageous three year battle with cancer.
She leaves her husband of 55 years. Russell A. Brickey; her son, Michael J. Brickey and his wife Valerie of Holden; two daughters, Sandra L. Balboni and her husband Ronald of Leominster and Elizabeth B. Pratt and her husband David of Leominster; a brother, Frederick E. Roberts of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Sara and Jacob Brickey and Patrick and Sumner Pratt; several nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Barbara Colello and Ruth Drougis, predeceased her. She was born in Holden, daughter of James F. and Cora I. (Grout) Roberts. She was a graduate of Princeton High School in 1949 and Worcester State College.
Mrs. Brickey was a fourth grade teacher at Houghton and Chocksett Elementary Schools for 21 years, retiring in 1992. She was lifelong active member of the First Congregational Church of Princeton and was an avid Red Sox fan. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and wintering at their second home in Ft. Myers, Florida.
A memorial service for Mrs. Brickey will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 14, in the First Congregational Church of Princeton. Interment will be private in Woodlawn Cemetery, Connor Lane, Princeton. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Brickey’s memory may be made to the First Congregational Church of Princeton, Memorial Fund, 14 Mountain Road, Princeton, MA 01541.
