WEST BOYLSTON - Raymond W. Ventura, 71, of 11 Reed Street, died on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, in UMass Memorial Health Care, University Campus, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 24 years, Darlene M. (Kinne) Ventura; a daughter, Judith A. Higginbotham of West Boylston; two sisters, Barbara Camara and Elizabeth Vieira both of Acushnet; three grandchildren, Dustin J. Young of Oklahoma, Shannon L. Young of West Boylston and Michelle M. Gagne of Oklahoma; nephews and nieces.
Ray worked for Adlife Marketing & Communications in Norwood, formerly Albrizzio Advertising Co. in West Boylston, for 15 years retiring in 2002. Previously he worked for Digital Equipment Corp. in Salem, New Hampshire. He was a member of the Hayden Lodge of Masons in North Brookfield and attended the Oakdale United Methodist Church. He enjoyed riding motorcycles in his younger years and roller skating where he met his wife Darlene. He loved cooking and spending time vacationing with his family in Saco, Maine.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 30th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. The funeral for Ray will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 31st, in the Oakdale United Methodist Church, 15 North Main Street, Oakdale. Burial will be private in High Plain Cemetery, Oakdale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
