Raymond P. Wilson Ii

July 6, 1933 — October 31, 2011

STERLING – Raymond P. Wilson II, 78, of Holden Road, died peacefully under the loving care of his family and the staff of Healthalliance Home Health & Hospice on Monday, October 31, 2011 after an illness.

He leaves his wife Charlotte F. (Lipka) Wilson; a daughter, Nancy D. Wilson of Sterling; three sons, Mark R. Wilson and his wife Beth of Sudbury, Brian S. Wilson and his companion Michelle Holm of Rutland and Michael A. Wilson and his companion Kellie Fahey of Leicester; a brother, Albert Wilson of Falmouth; two sisters, Ruth McCauley of Holden and Janet Dryden of Spencer; 10 grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Ray was born in Worcester, raised in Boylston, the son of Raymond P. and Doris C. (Rondeau) Wilson, and lived 36 years in Worcester before moving to Sterling 11 years ago.

Ray graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of Korean Conflict serving aboard the USS Vogelgesang. He worked at Norton Co. for 38 years, retiring as a purchasing manager in 1998. When his sons were young, he was a baseball coach with the Joe Schwartz Little League and a scout leader with the Boy Scouts of America at Immaculate Conception Church, both in Worcester. He was a member of the Retired Men’s Club of Greendale and the Norco Sportsman’s Club in Princeton. He enjoyed skiing and playing golf.

A private service honoring Ray’s life will be held at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Town of Sterling Fire Department, Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 515, Sterling, MA 01564; or to Healthalliance Home Health & Hospice, 25 Tucker Drive, Leominster, MA 01453.
