Raymond "Toot" C. Lyman

HOLDEN - Raymond “Toot” C. Lyman, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 under the loving care of his family and the dedicated staff at the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester, after a brief illness. Ray was born in Holden, the son of Clarence R. and Doris (Bassett) Lyman, and was a lifelong resident of Holden. He was a member of the first graduating class of Wachusett Regional High School in 1955.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years, member of the 1365th Photographic Squadron. Upon completion of his military service, Ray was a truck driver for Holden Heating Co. and R.J. Paquette Construction, retiring in 2010. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing.

Ray leaves his wife of 54 years, Carole C. (Taylor) Lyman; four daughters, Cheryl M. Fikucki and her husband, Mark of Worcester, Cathy E. Benoit and her husband, Richard and Charlene A. Lyman, all of Holden; and Carol C. Lyman of Baldwinville; a sister, Joyce Burnett and her husband, William of Barre; five grandchildren, Phillip and Jacqueline Fikucki, Brittany and Jonathan Benoit, Hannah Pavini and Elisabeth (Pavini) Walsh. A sister, Tina Forget predeceased him.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ray's family from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 26, at St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Holden.
