WORCESTER - Raymond R. Yancy, Sr., 69, of 1011 West Boylston Street, died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at home.
He leaves his wife of 12 years, Elaine D. Larson-Yancy; a son, Raymond R. Yancy, Jr. of Lawrence; five daughters, Edith A. Yancy-Tucker, Rhonda J. Yancy, Dawn A. Yancy, Renee J. Yancy, all of Marlboro, and Betty B. Bergeron of Lawrence; a brother, John Yancy of Haverhill; two sisters, Constance Lawrence fo Andover and Irene Chretien of Hanover; three grandchildren, Isiah Tucker, Nikita Tucker and Justin Ruffin; several nieces and nephews. A son, Scott Yancy, predeceased him. He was born in Andover, son of Frederick R. and Anna (Murphy) Yancy.
Mr. Yancy worked for Raytheon Company for 37 years, retiring in 1995. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Post #204 in West Boylston. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed dancing, skiing, and all sports.
The funeral Mass for Mr. Yancy will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 14, in St. Christopher's Church, 950 West Boylston Street (Rte. 12), Worcester. Burial will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Calling hours are from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
