MONTREAL, CANADA-It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Jazzar at the age of 89. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 12, 2012 in Montreal, Canada.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 67 years, Marion (Saad) formerly of Worcester; his daughters Donna, Carol and Deborah (Christian Coury); his most cherished grandson Alexander; his sisters Joyce (Jazzar Saad) and Bernice (Vincent), and many nieces, nephews and relatives in Canada and the United States.
Ray was a true gentleman who was devoted to his family, his church, his business and his community. He served as President of the St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church Board of Directors (1971-72, 1977), President of the Optomist Club of Longueuil (1964-65), Volunteer Fire Chief of the Longueuil Fire Department and co-owner of Jazzar stores on the South Shore.
A funeral service was held on June 16, 2012 in Montreal at St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church. The burial will take place on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 1:00PM at Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
