WORCESTER – Raymond E. French, 88, of Ellestuen Road, died Friday, February 29, 2008 in Wachusett Extended Care in Holden.
He leaves his wife, Betty E. (Hancock) French; a sister, Virginia Dubois of California; and many nieces and nephews. Born in Worcester, the son of Frank N. and Anna M. (Leger) French, he lived most of his life in Worcester. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade.
Raymond was an Army Veteran of World War II serving in the European African Middle Eastern Theatre. He was a bread salesman for the Worcester Baking Company and Wonder Bread. He also was a caretaker for the Worcester Parks Department.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery in Fitchburg. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made in Ray's memory to Massachusetts Audubon Society, 208 South Great Road, Lincoln MA 01773; or to MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston MA 02130. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
