Randolph M. Lane

LEOMINSTER - Randolph M. Lane, 61, of Leominster died at home on Saturday, May 21, 2005 surrounded by family and friends.

He leaves Ellen Doucette, companion, friend and wife of 33 years; several aunts and uncles including a special aunt and uncle, Jesse and Leonard Johnson of Worcester; also Doris Shavies of Tacoma, Washington, Blanche Taylor of
Worcester, Harry Bates of Hartford, Connecticut, Marvin Lane of Worcester and many, many cousins; several adopted children, Jeffrey Brisson, Steve Keosian, and Greg Rivers all of Leominster; childhood friend, Bruce Wehkoja and a host of
friends.

Randolph was predeceased by his mother, Mary Ginny (Bates) Lane Williams; his father, William H. Lane, Jr.; his stepfather, Henry Williams; and his brother, Gerald Lane. His grandfather was Chief Sun Cloud of the Nipmuc Nation, whose mother was of the Nipmuc tribe and father of the Mohegan tribe. Randolph was born and raised in Worcester’s Laurel-Clayton neighborhood.

Randolph graduated from Worcester Boy’s Trade High School and was a veteran of the Army. He was self-employed and has lived in Vermont, California, Colorado, Florida and Utah as well as traveling extensively across the United States. His passion was playing billiards at which he excelled and he always played to win.

At his request, there will be no calling hours. There will be a graveside service at Oakhill Cemetery in Sterling at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veteran’s Hospice Homestead, 69 High Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, is directing arrangements.
