RUTLAND – Ramona S. (DeGreenia) Nicholas, 84, of Rutland, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in West Boylston. Born in Sheffield, Vermont, Ramona was the daughter of Perley and Pauline (Healey) DeGreenia and lived 48 years in Rutland. Her husband of 61 years, Philip C. Nicholas died in 2014. She leaves her daughter, Linda Kuzian and her husband, Daniel of Rutland; her son Alfred Nicholas of Florida; two grandchildren, Heather Kuzian of Rutland and Julie Ann Doty of Bondsville; her great granddaughter, Cadence Doty; nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her son, Philip M. Nicholas who died in 1988, a brother, Alton DeGreenia, two sisters, Avis Prentice and Arlene LeFleur. Ramona worked at Rayovac in Clinton and later at Risdon Specialty Molding Division in Holden. She enjoyed collecting thimbles and bells. Ramona’s family will gather privately for a graveside service at Rural Cemetery in Rutland. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
