STERLING/LANCASTER- Ralph E. Meunier, 79, a loving, faith-filled man, known for his selfless service to his family, community and country, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at UMass Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Pawtucket, RI, Ralph was the son of Arthur and Amelia (Rainey) Meunier.
After graduating in 1961 from Tolman High School, Ralph attended Bryant College where he graduated in three years with a B.S. in Business Administration. Ralph enlisted in the United States Air Force and married his high school sweetheart, Jane Madore. As a Captain in the Air Force, he worked as an instructor and navigator flying many missions over Vietnam and the Pacific. Ralph received numerous awards and medals throughout his service and was honorably discharged in 1969. The couple moved to the town of Sterling, where they started a family and resided for over 50 years.
Ralph worked many years at General Electric Company in Fitchburg, MA as Financial Analyst and Manager. He changed his career and co-founded Sterling Countryside Builders in 1986, where he developed some of the finest neighborhoods of custom-built homes in the town of Sterling.
Faith was at the center of Ralph's life, and he was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Richard of Chichester Church in Sterling. On their 25th wedding anniversary, Ralph and Jane enriched their Christian faith and traveled to Yugoslavia to witness 'Our Lady of Medjugorje'.
Ralph will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife of 59 years, Jane E. (Madore) Meunier; his daughter Deborah A. Meunier of Sterling; his son Bernard J. Meunier of Ashburnham; six grandchildren, Adam, Ania, Aubrey, Noah, Bennett, and Luca; and many nephews and nieces. Besides his parents, Ralph is predeceased by four brothers Robert, Bernard, Donald, and Charles; four sisters, Annette Castro, Theresa LaCroix, Jean Barber, and Carol Breslin.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather and visit with Ralph's family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 27 at Miles Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, at St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, 25 Clinton Road, Sterling. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ralph's honor, to St. Richard of Chichester Church Food Pantry, 4 Bridge St., Sterling, MA 01564, or the American Heart Association, P.O.
