Patsy Quedo Lanciani

STERLING – Patsy Quedo Lanciani, 93, of 55 Redstone Hill Road, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, comfortably and at peace with those whom he loved and who loved him.

His wife, Jennie E. (Pasquale) Lanciani, died in 1980. He leaves his son, Michael D. Lanciani of Sterling; a brother, Tom Lanciani of Sterling; a sister, Esther Giambrocco of Sterling; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by seven brothers, Arthur Lanciani, Felice Lanciani I, Felice Lanciani II, James Lanciani, Frank Lanciani, William Lanciani and Henry Lanciani; and two sisters, Eva Navarolli and Alice Cutler. He was born in Everett, the son of Nunzio and Anna (Moreschi) Lanciani. He has lived in Sterling since 1922 and also has a residence in Waite, Maine.

Patsy was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the European Theatre. He worked for New England Power Service Co. in Westboro for 38 years, retiring as a construction supervisor in 1979. He worked part time as a Special Patrolman for the Town of Sterling for 38 years. Patsy was a founding member of St. Richard of Chichester Church, Past Grand Knight of the Clinton Council 1701 Knights of Columbus, Past President of Clinton Lions Club, member of the Hiram O. Taylor American Legion Post 189 in Sterling, and member of the Sterling Lions Club where he received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. He was also a member and Past President of the Sterling Police Association, an honorary member of the Mass. State Police Association, and Past Chairman of the Sterling Board of Appeals for 45 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 6th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. The funeral for Patsy will be held on Monday from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Road (Rte. 62), Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Town of Sterling Fire Department, Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 515, Sterling, MA 01564; or the Sterling Council on Aging, P.O. Box 243, Sterling, MA 01564.
