LANCASTER – Prudence I. (Folkins) Davidson, 90, of Bigelow Gardens, died peacefully at home under the care of her loving family on Sunday, February 12, 2012. She was born in Clinton on December 6, 1921, the daughter of William and Florence (Baker) Folkins.
Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Luther William Davidson in 1997. She is survived by her three sons, Rev. Randall C. Davidson of Fremont, Ohio, Luther W. Davidson Jr. of Port Orange, Florida and Wayne P. Davidson of Mt. Clemens, Michigan; a daughter, Dorothy I. Sullivan of Princeton; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a great great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother, Robert Folkins and her grandson, and “Special Guy” Captain Christopher Sullivan who gave his life while serving in the United States Army in Iraq.
She graduated from Clinton High School in 1939 and worked in the housekeeping department at Clinton Hospital for 21 years. In 1976 she moved to Green Spring, West Virginia and moved back to Lancaster in 2001. She was a member of Bethlehem Bible Church in West Boylston.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte.12), Sterling. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, with burial following in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Prudence I. Davidson to the Leominster Veteran’s Center, 100 West St., Leominster, MA 01453; Wreaths Across America, P. O.
