Priscilla H. (Rice) Hubbard, 94, of Highgate Springs, VT, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024, at the Franklin County Rehab Center in St. Albans, VT.
She was born on May 30, 1930, in Princeton, MA to the late Everett E. and Maud S. (Davis) Rice. Raised on a farm at the base of Mount Wachusett, Priscilla developed a life-long love of both music and the outdoors.
Priscilla is a graduate of Princeton High School, Priscilla soon married Clayton J. Hubbard, and they made a career in the military. A loving mother and wife, Priscilla raised their children on Army bases around the world. Upon retirement she and Clayton loved to explore the countryside on their motorcycle, with a sidecar added later for her comfort.
She kept everyone smiling with her love of the Harvey Wall smiley face, even having her favorite design on her shirt when she passed. In later years she became an avid bird watcher with her favorite cat Rosie on her lap.
She is predeceased by her husband, Clayton J. Hubbard, her sister Barbara Cummings and siblings, Van, Thurston, Kenneth, Clayton, Gladys, Evna, Ida, Edith. Priscilla is survived by her children, Stephen (Linda) Hubbard of Stevensville, Md and Sharon (Jim) Flanagan of Highgate Springs, VT, grandchildren, Michael (Kelly), Aaron (Erin), Matthew, Zachary (Shai), Samuel (Moriah), Peter (Hillary), Mikaela (Mark), 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A burial will take place on October 29, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located at 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA 01475.
