WORCESTER – Robert P. O'Neill, 49, died on Friday, November 20, 2009 in Worcester surrounded by his loving family after a brief battle with cancer.
His leaves his wife of 24 years, Teresa (Lindley) O'Neill; four daughters, Christine M. Childs and her husband Randy, Jessica L., Amy L. and Bridgette L. O'Neill, all of Worcester; his mother, Frances E. (Durkee) O'Neill of Holden; five brothers, Charles M. O'Neill, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Westborough, Joseph W. O'Neill of Holden, John A. O'Neill of Phoenix, AZ, David F. O'Neill and his wife Christine of Cincinnati, OH and Thomas P. O'Neill and his wife Pamela of Barre; a sister, Mary F. O'Neill of Newton; two grandchildren, Isis and Sergio, and another grandchild due this December; several nephews and nieces.
Robert was born in Worcester and raised in Holden, a son of the late Charles M. O'Neill, Sr. He was a machinist for Woodbury & Company in Worcester for over 10 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. He enjoyed vacationing on Cape Cod and was an avid N.E. Patriots fan. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and was known by his numerous friends as "Homa".
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 23rd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Robert will be held on Tuesday, November 24th, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 23 Fales Street, Worcester.
