STUART,FL / SHREWSBURY,MA - Phyllis E. Jensen, 84, of Stuart, FL, formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Parkway Nursing & Restorative Care Center in Stuart. Phyllis was born on October 22, 1929 in Marlborough to the late Andrew J. and Rena (Depatie) Cofelice.
She was a 1947 graduate of Marlborough High School and later attended classes at Fitchburg State College and Indian River State College. She was a member of the Unity Chapter 37 Order of the Eastern Star, Stuart, FL. Prior to retiring, Phyllis was the past manager of Patton School Food Service in Shrewsbury and retired from Martin County Food Services in FL. Phyllis loved to crochet hats for newborn babies at Martin Memorial Hospital, Stuart and refused payment for materials because payment would make it a job. This truly was a gift from her heart.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Alwyn E. Jensen; her loving daughter, Judy E. Jensen of Sutton; her brother, Andrew Cofelice and his wife, Carol of Medway; her sister, Marie Moreau of Billerica; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph and his wife, Xenia Cofelice and her brother-in-law, Andy Moreau.
Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours from 5 - 7 p.m. on Monday, June 30 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, at the First Congregational Church of Paxton, 1 Church Street. Burial will follow at Mooreland Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Paxton.
