LEOMINSTER – Phyllis D. (Bergeron) Bagley, 85, beloved wife of the late Dennis W. Bagley, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. Born and raised in Leominster, she was the daughter of Eugene and Bernice (Caisse) Bergeron.
An accomplished artist and teacher, Phyllis shared her immense talents with her many students, encouraging each one to find their own inner artist. Completely self-taught, she honed her natural abilities to create original New England land and seascapes which were her passion. Phyllis loved showing her work at outdoor Art Festivals around New England. She and Dennis, her husband of 65 years, enjoyed meeting other art lovers, many of whom became not only collectors of her work, but dear friends and students. Dennis also used his creative skills in photography and woodworking, supporting every aspect of her work; a true partnership.
Phyllis was a member of several Art Associations during her career including the Leominster and Gardner Area Art Associations, as well as Keene, NH. Her work is in many private collections across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.
When she wasn’t busy creating at her easel or preparing for a show, she enjoyed square dancing and round dancing with her husband, Dennis at the Bay Path Barn in Boylston. Phyllis was also an avid gardener, who for many years enjoyed beautifying her yard and raising vegetables during the winter in her greenhouse.
She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her two daughters, Carla Bagley and her husband, John Crothers of Shirley and Brenda Gillingham and her husband, Phillip of Chelmsford; her two granddaughters, Jasmine Tatel and her husband, Jeffrey and their children, Ari and Garrett of Leominster and Lauren Xavier and her husband, Bryan of Chelmsford; her sister, Lucille (Bergeron) Wood of West Palm Beach, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister Edna Carlson of Bridgeton, ME, and her brother Armand Bergeron of Concord, NH.
