Biography
PAXTON – Philip B. Murphy, 29, of Watertown, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 17, 2017. He was the beloved son of Brian C. and Cecilia E. (Minor) Murphy of Paxton. Besides his parents he leaves the love of his life and fiancée, Alyssa Rose, to whom he proposed on his birthday, this past July 18 ; two aunts, Ann L. Monahan and her husband, Michael of Harwichport and Marjorie J. Misiewicz and her husband Robert of Kernersville, North Carolina; and many cousins.
Phil was born in Worcester and spent his childhood in Paxton. He graduated from St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury in 2006 where he played soccer and was captain of the St. John’s tennis team in his senior year. A 2010 graduate of The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Phil played on the rugby team and spent his junior year abroad at the University of Cork, Ireland. His memberships included St. John’s Alumni Association and the College of the Holy Cross Alumni Association. He lived the last several years in Cambridge, South Boston and Brighton before recently moving to Watertown. Phil worked for C-4 Analytics in Saugus as Account Director.
Phil was outgoing and made friends wherever he went. He never met a stranger that he didn’t soon consider a friend. Phil embraced his Irish heritage.Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Phil’s family from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday, September 21, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, September 22, at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester, followed by interment at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester.
