WORCESTER – Philip B. Burke, Jr., 57, of 161 West Mountain Street, died peacefully after an illness on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 in UMass Memorial Health Care, Worcester with his family by his side.
He leaves his son, Shawn C. Burke of Brighton; a daughter, Erin E. Zoppo and her husband Peter of Hubbardston; two brothers, William and Gregory Burke both of Holden; three sisters, Carolee Dagle and Heidi Ferguson both of Holden and Kimberly Bianchi of Falmouth; a niece, Brianna and three nephews, Ryan, Taylor and Brennan. He was born in Worcester, the son of Dr. Philip B. and Phyllis (Schmidt) Burke, and lived many years in Holden, Paxton and 16 years in Worcester. He served as a Technical Sergeant in the Air National Guard from 1966 to 1987.
Mr. Burke was a local self-employed electrical contractor for many years. He graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in Holden.
The funeral service for Mr. Burke will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Woodland Street, Clinton. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 24 in the funeral home.
