HOLDEN – Peter J. Wilson, 34, of 299 Quinapoxet Street, Jefferson, died Saturday, October 2, 2004, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus following a yearlong battle with cancer.
He leaves his wife, Patricia V. (Ledger) Wilson; a son, Griffin J. Wilson of Rutland; his mother, Sandra L. (Dwelly) Szczypien and his stepfather, Paul A. Szczypien of Holden; his father, Courtney G. Wilson Jr. of Vero Beach, Florida; a sister, Lynne C. and her husband Steven Stewart of Paxton; two step-sisters, Pamela D. Szczypien and Amanda A. Szczypien both of Shrewsbury; his maternal grandmother, Myrtle A. Dwelly of Holden; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and a nephew. He was born in Holden and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1988.
Peter had worked for Capa Corporation in Rutland for many years. He later worked for Marois Brothers in Worcester. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Holden and the Construction & General Laborer’s Union Local 243. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
The funeral service for Peter will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 6, in the First Congregational Church of Holden, 1180 Main Street, Holden. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to ''Peter’s Home'', c/o Barre Savings Bank, 713 Pleasant Street, Paxton, MA 01612, for a future hospice home that will be built in Peter’s memory for those in need of hospice care.
