RUTLAND – Peter M. Foley, 80, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, after an illness. He was born in Worcester, the son of Timothy J. and Bertille G. (Toomey) Foley and had lived most of his life in Rutland.
He leaves his loving wife of 55 years, Terry (Peter) Foley; his son, Jim Foley of Rutland; his daughters, Christine Frisard and her husband, Ron of Worcester and Tricia Carlson and her husband, Chris of Rutland; his grandchildren, Meghan, Brody, Liam, Bayla, Griffin and Brennen; his brothers, Kevin Foley and his wife, Brenda of Boca Raton, FL, Brian Foley and his wife Norma of Worcester and David Foley and his wife, Patty of Shrewsbury; his sister, Mary Parmenter of Nashua, NH; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Timothy J. Foley III and his brother-in-law, Neil Parmenter.
Peter graduated from North High School and proudly served the Worcester Fire Department for 32 years retiring in 2004. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and the Worcester Fire Fighters Local 1009. Pete enjoyed gardening, discussing current events with his buddies at the local coffee shop, and was an avid New England sports fan. He was a devoted family man and, together with his wife Terry, spent many years enjoying their grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 11th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services for Peter will be held on Friday, August 12th with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main Street, Rutland. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester.
