Peter C. Brewer

October 7, 1953 — January 18, 2016

PRINCETON - Peter Craig Brewer, 62, died peacefully Monday, January 18, 2016 surrounded by his family at the Blaire House of Worcester. Born in Holden, son of Karin and the late Charles H. Brewer, Jr, and a lifelong resident of the area, he graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and Quinsigamond College. Peter worked as an IT technician and analyst for EMC for more than 32 years, Peter was a true outdoorsman who supported land conservation in central Massachusetts. Whether supporting the conservation of the woods, on the hunt or waiting for the perfect catch while fishing, Peter will most be remembered with a rod and reel in his hands, catching bass on the Unionville Pond or native trout in area streams or out on Cape Cod Bay with the Flying Mist Charter. Peter was able to travel to Alaska where he fished in Resurrection Bay and Wonder Lake. He was a lifetime member of the Nimrod Club of Holden, and served four terms as president. Peter assisted the Club in securing 400 acres of land, for club use and conservation. Peter was a very special man, meeting the challenges of his radial club arms, with his mother as his champion. His Dad taught him how to hunt, fish and respect the land. He nutured his gardens, producing marvelous tomatoes and squash. His family was his foundation for a fun, adventurous life, at the pond, on the cape, and at hunting camp. Peter treasured his many friends. If you were a friend of Peter’s, you were a friend for life. In recent years, Peter advocated for a cure for Alzheimers, traveling to DC to raise funds for research. Together he and Linda where awarded the Advocate of the Year in 2011 from the Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Association.
