Perry Johns

RUTLAND - Perry Johns, 83, of Rutland, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 on what would have been his 61st wedding anniversary, at UMass Memorial Medical Center-University Campus in Worcester. He was born in Taunton, MA on July 21, 1934, a son of George and Penelope (Rogos) John. Perry enjoyed a long career in the grocery business, retiring as Vice President of Sales from C & S Wholesale Grocers. Perry will be forever remembered and missed by his loving wife, Jeanne M. (Morelly); his four sons, Michael Johns of San Francisco, CA, Richard Johns and his wife, Loretta of Minden, NV, Ronald Johns and his wife, Alyce of Spencer, and Robert Johns and his wife, Robin of Rutland; his four grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, Heather and Kassandra; his three great-grandchildren, Dillon, Hailey and Sierra; his brother, Savas Johns and his wife, Carol; his two sisters, Yvonne Botsis and Cynthia Frank and her husband ,Thomas; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Perry was predeceased by his two brothers, Christopher John and James John. Perry enjoyed his family, friends and especially spending time with his grandson Joshua. He also enjoyed sports and working around his home. Perry was a kind, thoughtful, loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. The family wishes to thank the staff at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and UMass Memorial Medical Center-University Campus for their unique dedication and thoughtfulness throughout Perry’s short time there. Family and friends are invited to gather with Perry’s family at 11 am on Sunday, August 20, at Miles–Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 p.m. A private burial will be held in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, at the convenience of the family.
