Penleigh J. "Penny" Hunt

December 24, 1957 — August 20, 2022

Paxton/Worcester – Penleigh J. “Penny” Hunt, 64, died peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at UMass Memorial Healthcare – University Campus, Worcester. Penny was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Rodney F. and Dorothy (Bubar) Hunt and grew up in Holden and Paxton.

Penny graduated from Wachusett High School with the class of 1977. She had a special gift for serving others and chose a career as a Patient Care Assistant. Penny worked at the former Rutland Heights Hospital for many years before moving on to UMass Memorial Hospital. Penny was a person of great faith and attended Sunday worship at Millbury Baptist Church whenever possible. She also found peace in studying scripture with the Women’s Bible Study group there. Penny had a special appreciation for animals and had taken excellent care of her many pets over the years. Above all she was a devoted sister and aunt and enjoyed being with her family.

Penny is survived by her brothers, Raleigh Hunt of Oakham and Kerry Hunt and his wife, Tami of Florida; her sisters, Mina Worrick of Oakham and Carol Richert and her husband, Kevin of Charlton; and her nieces and nephews, Jennie, Thomas, Scott and Kristie Hunt and Cory and Dustin Worrick.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Grove Cemetery, Holden. Funeral services are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
