HOLDEN – Margaret "Peggy" I. (Nolan) Woodward, 85, of York Towne Terrace, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, while vacationing with friends in Truro.
Her husband, Donald E. Woodward died in 1970. She is survived by her son, James D. Woodward and his companion Linda Dube of Charlton; two daughters, Nancy A. Burns of Worcester and Susan E. Paciello and her husband Michael of Holden; two granddaughters, Lori A. McGurn and her husband Stephen and Lisa E. Paciello and her fiancé Robert Corazzini all of Worcester; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Hannah and Michael; and several nephews and nieces. Four brothers, John, Richard, Robert and James Nolan predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of James and Irene (King) Nolan and lived in Holden for 56 years.
Peggy graduated from Commerce High School and Becker College both in Worcester. She was a member of St. George's Church, its Women's Guild and the Red Hat Society of Holden. She summered over fifty years at Rye Beach, New Hampshire where she loved spending time with her family. Peggy will be sadly missed by her many friends with whom she played cards, attended church and went out to dinner with.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 on Friday, June 18th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral will be held on Saturday from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. George's Church, 40 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, 73 Central Street, Auburn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George's Church, 40 Brattle Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
