Everett P. Carver

WORCESTER/HOLDEN – Everett P. Carver, 94, of Worcester and formerly of Holden, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2010 in the Christopher House, Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 55 years, Annette (Vriesema) Carver; a sister-in-law, Doris Carver of Winthrop, Maine, and many nieces and nephews. Three brothers and four sisters predeceased him.

Everett was born on November 1, 1915 in South Monmouth, Maine, a son of Benjamin and Mattie (Pitts) Carver, and lived on Mason Road in Jefferson until moving to Worcester in 2006. He was an auto mechanic at Chaffin’s Garage and George Luddy Chevrolet Inc., both in Holden, for many years retiring in 1981. Years ago he ran the family farm in South Monmouth raising Hereford cattle. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Holden.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a calling hour from 12 noon to 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 3rd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Whitinsville Christian School, 279 Linwood Avenue, Whitinsville, MA 01588.
