HOLDEN – Pauline P. (Pronski) Hall, 84, died on Saturday, December 31, 2011.
She leaves a daughter, Francesca Hall of Uxbridge; a sister, Frances A. Stephens and her husband Charles of Brewster; and her “grand-dog”, Gloria. Pauline was born in Worcester, the daughter of Frank A. and Nellie (Dainys) Pronski and had lived in Holden for over 40 years.
She graduated from Simmons College in Boston and received her Master’s degree and Doctorate from Florida State University. She was a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force serving in Japan during the Korean Conflict. Mrs. Hall retired as a supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service in Worcester. Previously, she was a researcher at the Army Laboratory in Natick and was a professor of textiles at several universities. In her spare time she enjoyed swimming, gardening, quilting, and cheering on the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. She loved animals, especially Boxers.
A graveside service will be held at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, January 6th, in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to NEADS, Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans, 305 Redemption Rock Trail, Princeton, MA 01541 or the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
