Worcester - Paula F. (Altimani) Cassella, 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at UMass Memorial Hospital, Leominster with her family by her side, including her best canine friend Cooper. Born and raised in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Theresa (Abbruzzese) Altimani.
She is survived by her children, Deborah L. Mackintire and her Husband Robert from North Palm Beach, FL, her three sons Lawrence Cassella III of Worcester, Anthony Cassella of Holden, and Joseph Cassella and his wife Kim of Holden; eight grandchildren, Robert Mackintire Jr and his wife Kacie, Kara DeCroce and her husband Marc, Alexa Mackintire and her fiancé Cooper Roman, Michael Mackintire, Lawrence Cassella IV, Matthew Cassella, Nick Cassella and Mia Cassella; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Paula enjoyed a long career as an LPN at Westboro State Hospital where she cared for many patients until her retirement. After retiring she did volunteer work for Elder Services at Worcester Senior Center. Also served as Secretary on the council board for Colony Retirement IV home. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially watching their sporting events, celebrating holidays and going on family vacations to the White Mountains and Disney World.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Rita Bollus, Doris Gustafson and Joan Babin.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Family from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9 at St. George Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Johns Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Health Alliance Home Health & Hospice at 60 Hospital Rd, Leominster, Ma 01453 or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
