Biography
WORCESTER - Paul P. Piuze, 68, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014 in St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Worcester, Paul was a son of the late Joseph R. and Florence M. (Erickson) Piuze and lived in Worcester all his life.
Paul graduated from North High School and attended Worcester Junior College. He worked as an aide to the physically challenged in the Worcester Public School Department for 40 years retiring in 2011. Paul loved to spend time at Lake Sebago in Maine, loved to watch classic TV, do crossword puzzles and spend precious time with his family.
Paul leaves his wife of 39 years, Donna A. (Harry) Piuze; two sons, Matthew P. Piuze and his wife, Amy of Lowell, and Philip M. Piuze of Worcester; a grandson, Christopher J. Piuze of Lowell; a cousin, Thomas A. Barry and his wife, Michaleen of Worcester; a brother-in-law, Timothy J. Harry of East Brookfield and several cousins. Paul’s Aunt Blanche Barry and cousin, Catherine Sullivan predeceased him.
Paul’s family would like to thank the Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center as well as the nursing staff in the Critical Care Unit at St. Vincent’s Hospital for the excellent care and support given to Paul during his recent illness.
Family and friends are invited to visit with Paul’s family from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19th in Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. The funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20th in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 23 Fales Street, Worcester. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester.
The family requests flowers be omitted and contributions be made in Paul’s memory to the City of Worcester Fund for Special Needs Students, c/o Worcester School Department, attn: Business Office, 20 Irving Street, Worcester 01609.
