Biography
STERLING / ST. THOMAS - Paul J. Pichierri Jr., 73, formerly of West Boylston, Clinton, Sterling and Ashburnham died on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Baptist Hospital of Miami after a brief illness. Paul was born in Worcester, the son of Mary B. (DiPasquale) and Paul J. Pichierri, Sr.
Paul graduated from Wachusett Regional High School with the class of 1958 and went on to the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston where he earned his Bachelors of Science Degree and became a registered pharmacist. He began his career working at Towne Pharmacy in Shrewsbury and later worked at Robert’s Pharmacy in West Boylston. Paul’s passion for his work led him to own Professional Pharmacy in Gardner, Bill’s Pharmacy in Ashburnham and Professional Pharmacy II located at Heywood Hospital in Gardner. He ran his businesses with the help of family members who worked in different capacities at all three pharmacies at different times. Paul moved to St. Thomas in 1996 and had since worked at Kmart and Chelsea Pharmacies. He enjoyed bringing his work to the Island and his loving family came down for frequent vacations and visits.
Paul leaves his wife of 14 years, Bethany (Vazzana) Pichierri; his three daughters, Pamela J. Wright and her husband, Stephen of Las Vegas, Paula M. Parker and her husband, Robert of Ashburnham and Kelly Craig and her husband, David of Clinton; his son, Daniel P. Pichierri of Myrtle Beach; three brothers, Ronald F. Pichierri of Sterling, Michael R. Pichierri and his wife, Bonnie of Hubbardston and John “Jack” Pichierri of Sun City, FL; a sister, Darlene M. Paradise and her husband, Robert of Princeton; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his former wives, Gail W. (Parslow) and Ann (Columbe) Pichierri.
A memorial service celebrating Paul’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling.
