DIGHTON/WORCESTER - Paul F. Philips, 64, passed away at home on Sunday, August 22, 2021. Born and raised in Worcester, Paul was the son of Bernard S. and Irma T. (Lutsky) Philips and lived the last ten years in Dighton.
Paul was a graduate of Doherty Memorial High School in Worcester, class of 1974. He later graduated from Bentley College with bachelor's degree in accounting and worked as a private accountant for multiple companies.
Paul's greatest achievements in life were his children and grandchildren. The greatest title he held was “Papa Paul”, always having that most recent family photo to share. When taking a break from being Papa, you could find him watching every Red Sox game or listening to 70s funk music. Paul's favorite past time was going to every Tower of Power concert he could travel to, playing the best air saxophone you'd ever see. He was passionate in all aspects of life, always checking in on family and friends and providing unsolicited advice to all who would listen.
Paul will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife, Gail L. (Lavigne) Philips; three children, Samantha E. Soares and her husband, Kevin of Norwood, Jonathan A. Philips and his wife, Jill of Mashpee and Ashley B. Seggelin and her husband, Justin of Bridgewater; his mother, Irma T. Philips of Sharon; two brothers, David M. Philips and his wife, Carol of Sharon and Barry A. Philips and his wife, Donna of Madison, CT; six grandchildren, Landon, Brody, Bailey, Ella, Andrew and Halle.
A graveside service will be held 11 am on Wednesday, August 25, at B'nai Brith Cemetery in Worcester. Rabbi Aviva Fellman will be officiating. Immediately following the interment service, the family invites everyone to a Memorial Observance Reception at the residence of Samantha and Kevin Soares until 7pm. Memorial Observance will continue at the Soares residence on Thursday and Friday from 11am to 2pm and 4pm to 7pm on both days.
