Paul L. Allaire

WORCESTER - Paul L. Allaire, 82, of 419 North Main Street, South Yarmouth, died on Thursday, April 14, 2005, in Cape Cod Hospital after being stricken suddenly at his home.

Mr. Allaire was born raised and educated in Worcester and was a graduate of South High School in the city. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army having served in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatres. Paul retired in 1986 after a career of more than thirty years with the United States Postal Service having been employed as a clerk at the Webster Square Branch, the Quinsigamond Village Branch and at his retirement he was working in the Central Post Office in Worcester.

A longtime resident of Bauer Street in Worcester, Mr. Allaire and his wife have made their home in South Yarmouth since 1994. He was a member of the Greendale Retired Men’s Club, the Knights of Columbus and had been an active parishioner at St. Pius X Church in S.Yarmouth most notably as a bingo volunteer. Mr. Allaire had been a longtime Communicant of Our Lady or the Angels Parish in Worcester.

He is survived by his wife Ann M. (Biggins) Allaire, with whom he would have celebrated 55 years of marriage on April 23rd; a son, George P. Allaire of Auburn; two daughters, Joanne M. Barry of Westfield and Paula A. Konde of Spencer; five grandchildren, Justin A. Barry, Benjamin P. Allaire, Joshua A. Barry, Jeremy A. Barry and Anna M. Konde.

A funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 19, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, with a Mass at 12:00 Noon in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 18, in the funeral home.
